The National History Museum

Today we went for a trip to London where we could choose what museum we wanted to look at. Me and Peter chose to go to The National History Museum. It wasnt the best one that I've been to but I quite liked it. Not so much after spending 6 hours there tho aha. My favourite part was loads of little birds in a glass. Here are a few of them.

I processed my black and white negatives on thursday so that they would be ready to print next week. Unfortunately a bit of the film broke when I was taking it out of the camera and the unbroken bit didnt come out at all. So now I'm left with no black and white prints for my college project. I also took my colour expired film to be developed and sadly, most of my favourite pictures didnt come out either. Luckily I still managed to get some prints which are now waiting to be scanned in. Overall I am not impressed.

Here are some pictures of April I took with my Canon about a week ago for my college project. It took me a while to persuade her to pose for me as she hates having her pictures taken. In the end I told her that she doesnt have to show her face so I took some pictures of her lovely hair.

This is a little sneaky peak at some pictures I took for my college project called 'Im beautiful'. It is to do with portraits of pretty females. I think I might have posted some previous photos for it on here before. These lovely ladies are Tara and Kirsty. Today I am going to drop off a roll of film to be developed. I shot an expired film for the first time and I am not too sure what will I get out of it but I am hoping for some good results! Today I will also be developing black and white film at college which contains some more photographs for my project so there should be more stuff on here soon.

I still have about 3 weeks left of the negotiated project at college. During this week I have had a few little photoshoots with some girls for it which have went well. I will post the pictures on here or on my other blog soon as they still need some editing and developing.

I have been trying to be a bit creative today. I wrote some of the essay for college, took lots of pictures with my Canon and Minolta as well as some with a Pentax that I am currently renting from college. I then also produced two collages which I havent done in absolute ages and I missed it so much during this week.

I am leaving you all with some pictures I took today. These are highly edited as it is friday night and I'm sitting on here bored.

Kay

Today I had a little photoshoot with Kay for my college project. I was happy because the sunlight was just perfect for this and made the pictures look nicer. These are my three favourite ones.

I posted this on my other blog some time last week but because I couldnt find a nice photograph for today, I thought of posting this on here as well. I've done it in graphics at college a few months ago. Used colour inks.

I truly hate lazy, unproductive weekends when I just lay on the sofa watching crap on tv or sitting at the table looking at the laptop screen, skipping between facebook, flickr and blogger and all over again, not even staying 5 minutes on one of them websites. I should be writing an essay about some artists that I'm not even bothered about tbh, drawing-doodling, painting perhaps, finishing my Croydon Higher Education College Prospectus book, writing diary, replying to a letter from Yuna, and what's the most important right now - taking pictures! There is only a few short weeks left of the negotiated project at college, a few more weeks till the deadline of the photography competition I want to take a part in. And I am just sitting here, staring at my camera hopelessly. I feel so incredibly uninspired. Digital photography became so boring and over rated since I discovered film. It hurts looking through the view finder in my Canon just after looking through the one in my Minolta. Film is getting out of my reach due to the wallet getting slightly skinnier than it should be. My family is still deciding to be difficult when I ask them to 'pose' for me and then dont even seem interested when I say that it's for a college project which is becoming serious because of the uni interviews. One thing I know, I will NEVER be a fashion photographer. Perhaps I should of just dedicate myself to writing stories more when I was younger?

Well, here's a little mish mash of kind of pointless pictures I took during the past few days. Digital for a change.
1. Another cupcake my mum and Sara made last sunday.
2. Some of my film photographs. It made me smile to see how big my collection is now.
3. A little Costa book Peter did for me. I still have to think of what I want to use it for.
4. A picture I painted in my moleskin using my new water colours. They both (moleskin and watercolours) were a christmas present from Peter. The picture was inspired by that photograph, also by me.

I didn't even get to drink this tea after. Poured it down the sink so I could hurry up and go to town with my mum ahah.

I collected a developed roll of film yesterday. I'm not too sure about some of the heavy colours in the pictures though.

Cupcakes!

Yesterday my mum and Sara bought cupcake mixes and baked some lovely muffins. I thought the pink ones were in fact more yummy. Deffinately an eye candy for me!

Every now and then I find a whole lot of inspiration, not only for my photography but also my art work and this is deffinately one of my favourite times ever! I ditched my college work today and actually produced some work of my own, just for myself. I am quite happy with some of it. You will be able to see some of it on my other blog tomorrow. I also almost finished my 7th roll of film so there should be a few new shots on here on my flickr soon which I'm also a bit excited about. I'm looking forward to producing more work that I can be proud of. For now though I'm leaving you with my blue bed covers, a quick shot I took today after going back to my favourite lens for my canon.
